PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Ledfoot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baraka Ice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Ledfoot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Baraka Ice!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ledfoot misses with a head kick.
Ice tries to bum rush Ledfoot with a series of wild strikes but Ledfoot uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ledfoot misses with a wild body shot.

Ice tries to keep at a distance but Ledfoot has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ledfoot pulls guard.
Ice preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ice avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Ice thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ledfoot had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ice is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ledfoot Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ice's back instead.

Ledfoot looking for the RNC.
Ice is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ice is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Ledfoot is trying to control but Ice is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Ice can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ice is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Ledfoot is stalling here but it's allowed Ice to get half guard.
Ledfoot uses his free foot to push down on Ice's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ice.
Ice is looking to improve his position but Ledfoot isn't that keen on the idea.
Ice regains half guard.
Ice slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ice lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ledfoot!
Ledfoot slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ledfoot is breathing heavily.

Ice is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ledfoot doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ice.
Ice tries to pass to full mount but Ledfoot defends it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ledfoot is looking for a sweep. Ice is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ice is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ledfoot doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ice.
Ice works his foot free and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Ledfoot will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Ledfoot is looking to land body kicks.
Ledfoot lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ice takes a step back to recover.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ledfoot is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Ice misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ice uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ledfoot.
Ledfoot throws a head kick that misses.
Ledfoot misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ice.
Ice shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ledfoot but Ledfoot pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ledfoot has his takedown stuffed

and Ice counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ledfoot's guard now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ice drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ledfoot manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ice has Ledfoot in his guard.
Ledfoot trying to control the position from guard on top but Ice is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ice bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ledfoot's guard.

Ice drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ledfoot looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ledfoot looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ledfoot!
Ledfoot looking to control but instead Ice has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Ice is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ledfoot pulls his head out easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ice has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Ledfoot. Oh but Ice has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Ledfoot goes limp - he's gone! Ice jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Baraka Ice!
