Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Merlin Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Giorgio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Merlin Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Giorgio! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Giorgio feints and as Charles raises his hands in defense, Giorgio changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Charles not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Giorgio is looking to work some ground and pound but Charles has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Giorgio wants to stand but Charles has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Giorgio wants to pass the guard but Charles is keeping the position. Giorgio controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Let's hope that Giorgio has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
OK we're going to have a standup here. George Giorgio hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Charles gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Giorgio controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Charles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Giorgio wanted to stand there but Charles had control of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by George Giorgio. Giorgio throws a predictable looking body shot
and Charles counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Giorgio is lucky that one didn't land flush. Giorgio drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Giorgio is looking to stand up but Charles won't let him. Giorgio controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Charles throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Giorgio drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Charles manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Giorgio has Charles in his guard. Giorgio looking to hit a scissor sweep but Charles is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles working some strikes from top position. Giorgio throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Charles is looking to work some ground and pound but Giorgio has wrist control. Charles throws a big right hand that misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Giorgio can do anything to dispel that myth. Giorgio manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Charles manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Giorgio tries to free his leg and advance position but Charles is retaining full guard. Giorgio trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Giorgio's corner is telling him to maintain position. Charles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The ref stands the fighters back up. George Giorgio was stalling too much, according to the referee. Giorgio fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Charles to the ground. Giorgio is now in Charles's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Charles has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Charles wants to control but Giorgio passes easily into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Giorgio dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Giorgio shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Charles manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Giorgio not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. George Giorgio has got the better of the ground game so far. Charles trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Giorgio is looking to stand up but Charles won't let him. Giorgio content to stall in guard here.

Giorgio throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Charles was covering up waiting for the punch and Giorgio finishes the takedown easily into guard. Giorgio wants to pass the guard but Charles is keeping the position. Giorgio's corner is telling him to maintain position. Charles trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Giorgio content to stall in guard here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. George Giorgio wasn't active enough on the ground. The fight moves into the clinch position. Charles keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Giorgio's efforts to push away. Giorgio is trying to pull guard but Charles turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Charles prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Giorgio.
Merlin Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Giorgio. Charles blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Giorgio missing with knees to the body.
Giorgio misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Giorgio drops down looking for an ankle pick but Charles pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Giorgio closes the distance and clinches. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Giorgio working hard to break the clinch. Giorgio tries for a takedown. No joy.
Charles keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Giorgio's efforts to push away. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Giorgio. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Giorgio misses with a knee to the head. Giorgio is trying to pull guard but Charles has him pressed against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Giorgio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Giorgio instigates a clinch. Giorgio misses with a knee to the head. Charles stalling in the clinch but Giorgio improves position. Charles working Giorgio over with knees to the body. Giorgio has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Charles avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Giorgio manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Charles trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Giorgio controlling the position. Charles postures up in Giorgio's guard and throws a big left but Giorgio blocks it. Charles would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Giorgio is pulling down on Charles's head. It's preventing any offense from Charles, at least for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Giorgio utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Giorgio managing to control the position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. George Giorgio wasn't active enough on the ground. Charles doesn't succeed with the takedown and Giorgio counters by moving into the clinch. Charles managing to block the knees to the body from Giorgio.
Giorgio has clasped his hands together around Charles's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Charles is not content to let Giorgio control the position. Giorgio working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Giorgio trying to control the position but Charles is working away. Giorgio working the strikes but Charles uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Giorgio performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Ground and pound from Giorgio. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Charles is looking for a sweep. Giorgio is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Giorgio sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Giorgio looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Charles wants to improve his position but Giorgio is controlling well.

The ref stands the fighters back up. George Giorgio was stalling too much, according to the referee. Charles gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Giorgio counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Giorgio landing some decent shots from guard. Giorgio's corner is telling him to maintain position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
George Giorgio has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Giorgio closes the distance and pushes Charles back into the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A frustrated look appears on Giorgio's face as he tries to break the clinch. Merlin Charles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! George Giorgio is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Charles struggles to land a body shot inside as Giorgio controls his hands.
And that's the end of the fight! George Giorgio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Giorgio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
