1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Pirate! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice leg kick lands there from Pirate. Pirate stuffs the takedown attempt from Kim. Kim gets slowly back to his feet. A solid leg kick lands there for Pirate.
Darrel Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pirate displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kim. Pirate lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kim takes a step back to recover. Kim tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pirate swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darrel Kim. That's going to take a lot out of him. A slapping leg kick lands for Pirate.

Pirate lands a leg kick that knocks Kim off balance momentarily. Kim tries for a takedown but Pirate sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A head kick from Pirate lands but Kim takes it in his stride. Kim takes a kick to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Pirate. Pirate throws a head kick that half lands.
Kim tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pirate swivels and escapes. Kim on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Pirate has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. Horrible takedown attempt by Kim or perhaps it was just good defense by Pirate, which made it look bad. Kim has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pirate. Kim changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pirate tries to avoid it but Kim manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pirate to the ground. Pirate escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pirate moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Kim looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Pirate! Kim is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kim trying to control the position but Pirate is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pirate takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Pirate is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kim is controlling him well. Kim has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kim postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pirate wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Kim controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Darrel Kim. Pirate throws a leg kick which misses Kim's front leg but catches the back leg as Kim tries to avoid it. The Pirate is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pirate connects with an inside leg kick. Kim goes for a double leg but Pirate avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pirate continues to drive forward. Pirate cracks Kim with a nice body shot. Kim jumps guard but Pirate turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Kim can't get the takedown.
Kim has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pirate is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Pirate pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kim shoots in for a double leg but Pirate sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A slapping leg kick lands for Pirate.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A thudding body kick lands there by Pirate!
A head kick from Pirate lands but Kim takes it in his stride. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pirate defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kim. Pirate with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
The Pirate dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Pirate cracks the inside of Kim's front leg. Kim is looking to clinch. Pirate defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kim. Pirate fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kim has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kim shoots in but Pirate avoids the takedown attempt easily. Pirate throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kim's head. Pirate connects with a solid leg kick. Pirate lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kim's sensitive parts. A good leg kick by Pirate. Pirate plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Kim is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pirate sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darrel Kim. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pirate lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Darrel Kim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. That kick from Pirate tenderised Kim's leg. Kim is trying to keep his angry face on. An inside leg kick lands from Pirate. Pirate scores with a leg kick.

Kim takes a kick to the side of the head. Pirate connects with a leg kick. Kim looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Kim misses with a takedown and Pirate counters with a body kick. Nice body kick there by Pirate. Kim fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kim takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Kim tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. The Pirate seems to be getting the better of the standup. Pirate connects with a leg kick. Kim looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. A solid leg kick lands there for Pirate.

Will he get it? Pirate is fending him off so far but Kim persists. Nope, Pirate circles away and we're back to standing. Kim on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Pirate lands a high kick!
Kim has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pirate. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pirate, right into the meat.
Kim will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Pirate thumps Kim with a low kick. Pirate connects with an inside leg kick. Kim takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Pirate throws a nice inside leg kick. Kim tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pirate sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kim somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Pirate. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! That kick from Pirate tenderised Kim's leg. Kim is trying to keep his angry face on. Kim stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pirate. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pirate.
Kim closes the distance and clinches up with Pirate, looking for a takedown. Kim pushes Pirate against the cage but Pirate circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pirate, right into the meat.
A good leg kick by Pirate. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pirate lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kim's sensitive parts. Pirate feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kim's calf. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kim is defended easily by Pirate. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
The Pirate showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Pirate thumps Kim with a low kick. Pirate lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Pirate throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kim. Pirate scores with a head kick. Kim tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Kim takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kim is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Kim shoots and misses and Pirate counters with a leg kick. Pirate feints and then cracks Kim's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kim down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pirate lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kim changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pirate looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pirate regains half guard there - taking advantage of Kim's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Kim is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Pirate reverses the position - he's now on top in Kim's guard. Pirate must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pirate wanted to stand there but Kim had control of the position. Kim on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kim tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim is pulling down on Pirate's head to control his posture. Kim trying to keep a closed guard but Pirate is proving a slippery customer.

We're going to have a standup here because Darrel Kim wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Kim takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Pirate slaps away a takedown attempt from Kim, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darrel Kim. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pirate turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kim on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pirate. Pirate obviously looking to wear him down.

Pirate is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Pirate pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pirate lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. A chopping leg kick lands by Pirate. Pirate is looking to slow Kim down with leg kicks. Pirate has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pirate pushes Kim away with a front kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pirate plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pirate, right into the meat.
Darrel Kim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A head kick from Pirate lands but Kim takes it in his stride.
And that's the end of the fight! The Pirate comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Pirate winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
