The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Gadzhiev counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Coleman!

Coleman explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Coleman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gadzhiev was covering up waiting for the punch and Coleman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Coleman is fighting to break Gadzhiev's control of his arms but Gadzhiev is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Gadzhiev tries to land a sweep but no joy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Coleman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Coleman moves into full mount! Gadzhiev won't be happy about that!
Coleman throws a wild left hand from mount and Gadzhiev manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.

Coleman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Coleman is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Gadzhiev to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Coleman wants to control from the top but Gadzhiev keeps moving.

Coleman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gadzhiev should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Coleman here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Gadzhiev moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Gadzhiev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Coleman is one step ahead there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Coleman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gadzhiev is looking to escape.
