Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antony Forbes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan James! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice jab there from Forbes. James gets a double leg takedown into Forbes's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Forbes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. James is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Forbes throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Forbes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well. The ref stands the fighters back up. Jordan James was stalling too much, according to the referee. James throws an off balance right hand
and Forbes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. James drives through with a takedown into guard. Forbes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
James is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James pushing down on Forbes's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Forbes wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.

James is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. James looks winded! James sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Forbes keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.

Forbes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. James stacks Forbes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by James! James moves into full mount! James scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Forbes manages to regain half guard. Good work. Forbes looking for submissions off his back. James prevents Forbes from improving his position. James is controlling the pace.
James works his foot free and advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Forbes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Forbes shoots for a takedown but James saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Forbes tries to sprawl but James drives through with a takedown into half guard. Forbes wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.
James wants to pass to mount but Forbes is defending the position. James working the head and body with strikes.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. James has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. James darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. James slows the pace down in half guard.

James moves to the back position. James keeps control of the position easily here as Forbes tries to buck him off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Forbes is trying to remain composed but James is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jordan James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

James moves into the clinch successfully.

James blocks a body shot from Forbes. James is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Forbes can't fight it off and eventually James manages to take the fight to the floor. Forbes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Forbes tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jordan James has got the better of the ground game so far. James engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Forbes keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. James takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Forbes has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though. Forbes wants to sweep here but James controlling him for the moment. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Forbes working for a triangle but James defends it easily.
Forbes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as James controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James connects with a couple of short punches. Forbes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. James content to stall in guard here. James stands and throws Forbes's legs to the side, diving into side control. James tries to stand but Forbes is controlling his head. James has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James controlling the position easily from mount. Forbes has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
James keeps control of the position as Forbes tries to break free.
James has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Forbes's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James is punishing Forbes with strikes - can he finish him?! James is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Forbes. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. James is landing with strikes. Forbes can't take much more of this. James working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Forbes is doing well to defend. James seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Forbes is forced to tap and this one is over!
