Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renato Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Achilles Nikolopoulos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Achilles Nikolopoulos! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nikolopoulos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alves was covering up waiting for the punch and Nikolopoulos finishes the takedown easily into guard. Nikolopoulos looking to pass the guard. Alves wants to sweep but no luck. Nikolopoulos passes Alves's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Alves makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Alves. Nikolopoulos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nikolopoulos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nikolopoulos passes easily into side control. Nice work. Nikolopoulos passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Alves! Nikolopoulos goes for an armbar but Alves turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Alves. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alves would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves stopping the sweep attempt from Nikolopoulos. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nikolopoulos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alves doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alves manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nikolopoulos has a closed guard, preventing Alves from standing up. Nikolopoulos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alves is one step ahead there. Nikolopoulos is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nikolopoulos is on top in guard.
Nikolopoulos looking to pass the guard. Nikolopoulos stands and throws Alves's legs to the side, diving into side control. Nikolopoulos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alves is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Alves is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Nikolopoulos has just dragged him back down to the mat. Nikolopoulos has knee on belly and moves into mount. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nikolopoulos has isolated one of Alves's arms. Alves looking to fight him off but Nikolopoulos twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Achilles Nikolopoulos! Achilles Nikolopoulos bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
