With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sergio Pettis!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Isaac Frost!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost takes a swing at Pettis's ribcage but misses.
Frost ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Frost misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pettis.
Frost throws a poor cross that misses

so Pettis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Pettis with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pettis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Frost wants to sweep here but Pettis controlling him for the moment.

Pettis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pettis looking to pass the guard.
We've been hearing that Pettis has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Frost is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pettis is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Frost has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pettis is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Frost.
Frost tries to bench press Pettis off him but Pettis keeps the position.

Pettis connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Frost some visible discomfort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pettis has control of an arm but Frost manages to advance to Pettis's back!

Frost is trying to stick to Pettis's back but Pettis is turning into Frost. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Frost's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pettis.
Pettis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Pettis is looking to work some ground and pound but Frost has wrist control.

Frost avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pettis passes Frost's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Pettis lands with a punch from half guard.

Pettis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Frost slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Frost has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pettis should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Frost has tightened it up now! Pettis should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Isaac Frost was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
