Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Greg Lundberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon W (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). W has chosen thunderstuck as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

W shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than W was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

W is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

W looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
W preventing the sweep.

W gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Lundberg gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
W looking to pass the guard.
Lundberg wants to stand and escape but W is having none of it.
W is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lundberg wants to stand but W is controlling the position.
W stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lundberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

W is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

W prevents Lundberg from getting back to his feet.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Lundberg takes a kick to the side of the head.
Lundberg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. W tries to avoid it but Lundberg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag W to the ground. W escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lundberg doesn't succeed with the takedown

and W counters with a takedown into side control.
Lundberg is breathing heavily.
W is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
W working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Lundberg is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

W decides to stand back up.
W staying out of range there.
Greg Lundberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
W feints and then cracks Lundberg's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lundberg down.

W drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
W pushing down on Lundberg's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
W seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

W is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

W is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

W gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
W steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lundberg.

W decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
W looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

W frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
W takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lundberg bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Lundberg tries to stand but W is controlling from the bottom.

W uses the cage to get back to his feet.
W plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

W looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
W is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lundberg looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

W gets to his feet - Lundberg follows without any prompting.
A nice leg kick lands there from W.
W keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Lundberg. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice inside leg kick there by W. That's going to slow Lundberg down.
W avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
W scores with a hook to the body. Lundberg takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

W shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lundberg's guard.

W controlling from the top position.
Lundberg might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

W stands up and waves to Lundberg to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon W dominated that round.
That's time! Lundberg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A slapping leg kick lands for W.
Lundberg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. W tries to avoid it but Lundberg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag W to the ground. W escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
W slips under a jab.

W content to stall in guard here.

W gets to his feet. Lundberg looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

W closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lundberg to the mat! Lundberg manages to get full guard.
Jon W has got the better of the ground game so far.
W slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
W won't allow Lundberg to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
W is pushing down on Lundberg's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lundberg is fighting to maintain full guard but W has managed to sneak the leg through.
W has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
W not doing much here.

Let's hope that W has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lundberg tries to kick W off but W keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
W moves into full mount! Lundberg won't be happy about that!
Lundberg really wants to buck W off and get back to his feet.
W content just to control the position here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jon W just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
W with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

W drives through with a takedown into guard.
W stays in close to Lundberg's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
W works a leg free and moves into half guard.

W decides to return to a standing position.

W changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lundberg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lundberg is pushing W's head away, looking to escape. W manages to hold on to the position though.

W stands up.
W buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
W lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
W throws a one two combo.
Jon W is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
W lands with a kick to the temple. Lundberg shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Lundberg throws a hook but W avoids it easily.

W drives through and clinches with Lundberg against the cage.

W manages to pull guard.
Lundberg is looking to stand up but W won't let him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now W is on top in guard.
W wants to control from the top but Lundberg keeps moving.
W seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

W pushes down on Lundberg's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Lundberg wants to improve his position but W is controlling well.

W is figuring out what he wants to do next.
W moves nicely into side control.
Lundberg wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

W throws a combination. Lundberg tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Lundberg throws a hook but W blocks it.
W throws a quick inside leg kick.
W lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lundberg's sensitive parts.
W throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
W ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
W throws a nice outside leg kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by W.

W darts in and clinches Lundberg up against the cage.

W turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
W controls the position from side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lundberg is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Lundberg tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
W controlling the position easily from mount.
Lundberg is trying to stand up.

W stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Lundberg misses with a looping left.

W shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. W showed some decent athleticism there.
Lundberg flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Lundberg has one foot on W's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

W gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
W crunches a lovely knee into Lundberg's ribcage.
Lundberg wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but W has him pressed against the cage.
W has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lundberg avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Lundberg tries a knee to the head but W blocks it.
W changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lundberg fights it off and pushes away nicely.

W clinches up with Lundberg and pushes him back against the cage.
Lundberg is trying to break free.

W drags the fight down to the ground.
Lundberg is looking to work some ground and pound but W has wrist control.
Lundberg throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
W is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lundberg looks like he's trying to stand up.

W performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lundberg tries to roll over but W keeps him under control.
W frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
W controlling from the full mount.

W wants to finish this one by submission but Lundberg is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from W.

W looking for a guillotine from mount but Lundberg is having none of it.

The referee warns Lundberg that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Lundberg takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Lundberg is trying to stand but he's just given W his back.
I would not like to be Lundberg right now.
Lundberg looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

W is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Lundberg taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from W.
