Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Bucktoo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ali Bagautinov! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bagautinov stuffs the takedown attempt from Bucktoo. Bucktoo gets slowly back to his feet. A left lands for Bucktoo. Bucktoo looks to land a combination but Bagautinov avoids it well. Bucktoo scores with a jab. Bagautinov acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Bagautinov throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bucktoo's head. Nice uppercut there from Bucktoo. Bagautinov misses with a jab to the body
and Bucktoo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Bagautinov thows a left - swing and a miss! Bucktoo takes a body punch but keeps moving. Tim Bucktoo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bucktoo feints a jab promting Bagautinov to slip. Bucktoo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bagautinov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bagautinov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bucktoo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bagautinov has time to react. Bucktoo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bagautinov's half guard. We've been hearing good reports from Bucktoo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Bagautinov is refusing to be controlled, as Bucktoo sits in half guard. Bucktoo wants to free his trapped foot but Bagautinov is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bucktoo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bagautinov's head. Bucktoo trying to control from half guard but Bagautinov is working away. Bucktoo is nestled in close to Bagautinov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bucktoo stops Bagautinov from getting back to his feet.
Bucktoo is working for a submission of some sort.

Let's see if Bagautinov can do anything to dispel that myth. Bucktoo lands with a punch from half guard. Bucktoo missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bucktoo slips a nice elbow through Bagautinov's hands, connecting with Bagautinov's forehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bagautinov is trying to stand.
Bucktoo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Bagautinov wants to get back to his feet. Bucktoo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bagautinov is staying active underneath Bucktoo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bucktoo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bagautinov pushes Bucktoo off looking to stand but Bucktoo dives back in and keeps control.
Bucktoo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bagautinov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bucktoo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bagautinov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bucktoo trying to pass the guard but Bagautinov defending well. Bucktoo is looking for a kimura here.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bucktoo lands a nice short elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bagautinov wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bucktoo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Bucktoo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bagautinov is trying to stand up here but Bucktoo is controlling him well. Bucktoo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bucktoo is trying to work for a kimura but Bagautinov is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bucktoo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Bucktoo is nestled in close to Bagautinov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bucktoo is looking for a kimura but Bagautinov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bucktoo to get the leverage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bagautinov wants to get back to his feet.
Bucktoo passes the guard and advances to mount! Bucktoo dominating with strikes here. Bagautinov is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Bagautinov looks winded! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bucktoo working Bagautinov over with strikes here. The referee warns Bagautinov that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Bucktoo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bucktoo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Bagautinov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bucktoo. Bucktoo working over Bagautinov with some ground and pound. Bagautinov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bucktoo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bagautinov is trying to stand.
Bucktoo in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Bagautinov tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bucktoo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tim Bucktoo! A relieved looking Tim Bucktoo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
