Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shavo Odin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Kyle! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kyle shoots in and drives through. Odin sprawls well. Odin thows a left - swing and a miss! Kyle looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Odin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kyle throws a push kick but Odin slaps the foot to one side. Kyle avoids the head kick by Odin.
Kyle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. This fight is sponsored by Chainsaw 7. More blood and guts and stuff like that, in cinemas everywhere now! Kyle working away. Odin is looking for a sweep. Odin parries the strikes from Kyle easily there. Kyle is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Odin to escape.
Kyle throwing shots but missing, from side control. Kyle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Odin keeps working. Kyle working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Odin is trying to improve his position. Kyle tries to move into full mount but can't pass Odin's legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Odin is looking to regain half guard here but Kyle keeps moving and retains side control. Odin struggling a bit here. Odin tries to improve position but can't. Kyle lands a decent elbow from side control. Odin is looking for a sweep. Odin wants to control but Kyle postures up. Odin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kyle off and has taken his back! Odin keeps control of the position as Kyle tries to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kyle is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Odin gets his way!
Odin is hanging on to Kyle's back as he tries to escape.
Odin controlling the position well here. Kyle rolled but Odin kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Kyle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Odin is punishing Kyle with some ground and pound. Kyle trying to control the action but Odin just sinks the hooks in. Odin punches the canvas rather than the man. Odin throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kyle trying to control the hands but Odin breaks the grip.

Odin patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Kyle is trying to break free.
Odin is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kyle has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Kyle is really stuck here.
Odin has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Kyle rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kyle is staying active underneath Odin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kyle is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Odin scores with a couple of nice shots. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kyle won't allow Odin to pass to mount. Odin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kyle defends it well. Kyle is trying to maintain the position but Odin is very close to passing his half guard. Odin is trying to work for a kimura but Kyle is defending well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kyle tries to get to full guard but Odin has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shavo Odin will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Kyle fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Odin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Odin checks a leg kick. Kyle throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Odin's head.
It looks like Shavo Odin has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kyle walks into a left hand. Odin moves in looking to clinch but Kyle pushes him off. Kyle cracks Odin with a good jab. Kyle digs a good hook to Odin's body.
Mark Kyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kyle looks to land a body kick but Odin moved away. Kyle lands with an uppercut that bounces Odin off the cage and back into range. Kyle tries to land a front kick but Odin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Kyle is looking to score with low kicks. Kyle misses with a leg kick. Kyle works Odin's body with a nice hook. Odin swinging wildly here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kyle throws a leg kick which misses Odin's front leg but catches the back leg as Odin tries to avoid it. Kyle throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Odin checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Kyle tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Odin paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kyle swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kyle feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Odin's calf. Odin moves out of range of the body kick. Kyle connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Odin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kyle finds it's way round the side to connect with Odin's head. Kyle thuds his shin into the meat of Odin's side. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kyle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Odin to the mat! Odin manages to get full guard. Odin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kyle works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kyle is looking to advance position but Odin won't allow it. Odin is not content to let Kyle control the position. Odin trying to control here.
Odin wants to get back to full guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kyle connects with a nice short shot to Odin's temple. Odin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kyle. Odin is trying to get back to full guard. Still in half guard, Kyle seems content to control. Odin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kyle missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Odin is staying active underneath Kyle, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kyle tries to pass to full mount but Odin defends it. Odin gets full guard. Kyle advances position into side control! Kyle scores with punches from side control. Kyle postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Mark Kyle has got the better of the ground game so far. Odin is positioning himself to get back to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Mark Kyle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Shavo Odin's cut. That's time! Odin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Kyle attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Odin gets off balance looking for a body kick so Kyle counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kyle working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Odin looking to control.
Kyle slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Odin is looking to reverse the position. Odin can't do much from the bottom here. Kyle in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Kyle misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Kyle throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Kyle trying to control the position but Odin is working away. Kyle sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Odin is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Odin defending against the ground and pound. Kyle taking a breather here. Odin manages to get back to half guard. Kyle is trying to control. Odin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Odin tries to get to full guard but Kyle has control of the leg. Kyle missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kyle is looking to advance position but Odin won't allow it. Odin trying to control from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Odin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kyle pulls his head out easily. Odin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Kyle postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kyle stands up over Odin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kyle wants to control from the top but Odin keeps moving. Kyle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Odin is trying to keep Kyle in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kyle with a flurry of punches that miss. Kyle works a leg free and moves into half guard. Odin wants to control but Kyle is keeping busy.
Kyle has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kyle not landing any meaningful shots this time. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kyle trying to control the action but Odin is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kyle thows a huge punch but Odin dodges it nicely.
Kyle wants to pass the guard but Odin is defending well.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Kyle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kyle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
