PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Lundin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robert Lundin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Wes Walker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lundin drives through and clinches with Walker against the cage.
Walker scores with a shoulder strike.
Walker working aggressively here.
Lundin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Walker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Walker looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A bit of stalling here from Lundin.
Walker gets underhooks to prevent Lundin's takedown attempt.

Walker lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Robert Lundin has been cut.
Lundin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Walker swings wildly with an uppercut but Lundin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Walker can't find room to land a body shot as Lundin controls the action.
Walker tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lundin's elbow.

Lundin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Walker's efforts to push away.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lundin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Walker controls the pace.
Let's hope that Walker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Lundin is staying active underneath Walker, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Walker is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lundin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Walker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Walker's back!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Walker is trying to get back to his feet but Lundin has full control of the position and if anything, Walker has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Even with his hooks in, Lundin manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Lundin has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Walker has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Lundin is not going to allow Walker to sit and survive in this position.
Lundin tries to keep control of the position but Walker is staying busy.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Lundin.
Walker rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lundin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Walker is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lundin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Walker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Lundin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Walker throws out the jab.
Walker ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Lundin tries to clinch up but Walker circles away and keeps his distance.

Lundin rushes Walker and presses him up against the cage.
Lundin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Walker smiles and moves away.
Walker lands a jab.
Walker works Lundin's body with a nice hook.
Walker lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Walker misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Lundin counters by moving into the clinch.
Walker's coach down at Camelot's Court was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Walker's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Walker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lundin blocks a jab.

Walker lands a nice shot to the body.
Walker moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Lundin forces Walker back against the cage and clinches.
Walker misses with a knee to the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Lundin.
Walker is working Lundin over against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Walker.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lundin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Walker gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Walker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Walker lands a jab to the nose.


Lundin is rocked!
BOOM! Walker lands a beautiful left hook that drops Lundin. Lundin tries to recover but Walker is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Lundin lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wes Walker!
An out of breath Wes Walker thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
