Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam B Glenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Christmas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christmas has chosen Enea Vollare Mezzo as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Christmas! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glenn scores with a nice body kick.
Christmas fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Glenn moves into the clinch. Glenn tries to throw a body punch but Christmas avoids it by throwing Glenn back against the cage. Christmas fails to pull guard.
Christmas jumps into guard, dragging Glenn to the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Christmas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Glenn is working Christmas over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Glenn slips nicely into half guard. Glenn wants to take a breather but Christmas is having none of it. Christmas makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Christmas.

Glenn tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Christmas being controlled for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Christmas tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Christmas is still trying to improve position. Glenn avoids the attempt from Christmas to control. Christmas is bucking up trying to escape but Glenn cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Christmas is desperately trying to improve his position but Glenn has a good base and remains in mount. Glenn landing strikes from the mount and Christmas is in trouble! Glenn moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Christmas has worked his arm free - good work by Christmas!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Christmas sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glenn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Christmas. Christmas shoots in and drives through. Glenn sprawls well. Glenn bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Christmas shoots in but no luck this time. Sam B Glenn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Christmas. Christmas shoots for a double leg takedown but Glenn sprawls well. That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Christmas wants to control from the top but Glenn keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Sam B Glenn wasn't doing enough on the ground. Glenn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Christmas. Christmas slips a jab and a cross from Glenn.
Glenn motions for Christmas to come forward. Glenn throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Christmas gets tackled into the cage by Glenn. Glenn maintains the clinch. Glenn displaying some good clinch control by pressing Christmas up against the cage. Glenn is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Our sources have told us that Glenn has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Christmas pulls Glenn into guard.

Christmas tries to roll over but Glenn keeps him under control. Christmas is pressing down on Glenn's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Christmas controlling the position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Glenn won't allow Christmas to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Glenn trying to control the position from guard on top but Christmas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Christmas controls Glenn momentarily but Glenn frees himself.

Glenn lands a front kick. Glenn connects with a high kick. Glenn misses with the combination.
Christmas closes the distance and clinches up with Glenn, looking for a takedown. Christmas pushes Glenn against the cage but Glenn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Glenn lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Christmas tries to buck Glenn off but Glenn is having none of it. Glenn stands up and beckons Christmas to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. That kick from Glenn tenderised Christmas's leg. Christmas is trying to keep his angry face on. Glenn lands with a thumping leg kick.

Christmas tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Christmas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Glenn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Glenn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Christmas shoots in for a takedown but Glenn shows good takedown defense. Glenn lands with a thumping leg kick.

Christmas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Glenn.
Glenn throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Christmas's head.
It looks like John Christmas has been cut. Glenn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Christmas is defended easily by Glenn. Glenn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sam B Glenn is winning the standup battle so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glenn moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Glenn jabs Christmas to the body, keeping him at a distance. Christmas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Glenn avoids it really well and circles away. Sam B Glenn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Christmas. Christmas on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Glenn throws a nice inside leg kick. Christmas sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Glenn lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Glenn thuds a left hand into Christmas's body. Glenn lands a nice looking body kick. Sam B Glenn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Glenn slips a jab and a cross from Christmas.
Christmas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A lazy left from Glenn finds it's target. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Christmas gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Christmas pulls guard. Christmas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Glenn defends well. Glenn stays in close to Christmas's body and controls the position. Glenn tries to free his leg and advance position but Christmas is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Glenn passes Christmas's left leg - he's now in half guard. Christmas works his way to full guard. Good work. Christmas is looking for a guillotine. Christmas wants to sweep here but Glenn controlling him for the moment. Glenn looking to sit in guard and control but Christmas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. John Christmas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sam B Glenn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Christmas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Glenn manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Glenn controlling the action here for a moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Christmas creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Christmas obliges. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Christmas takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
And that's the end of the fight! Sam B Glenn showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Glenn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
