Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fuk Yu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hansen has chosen Valravn - Marsk as his entrance music. Daniel Hansen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Fuk Yu's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fuk Yu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hansen pinned against the cage. Hansen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hansen closes the distance and pushes Yu back into the cage.
Yu is trying to break free.

Yu has clasped his hands together around Hansen's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hansen tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Yu throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Yu is looking to control Hansen but Hansen is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Yu controlling well, preventing Hansen from escaping the position.

Yu goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Hansen escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Hansen not doing much here.
Yu really is a fat lump.
Yu makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Yu.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yu is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hansen controls from within his opponent's guard.
Yu controls Hansen momentarily but Hansen frees himself.
Hansen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown but Yu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hansen tries to close the distance and clinch but Yu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Yu rushes Hansen and presses him up against the cage.
Hansen is pressed up against the cage. Yu has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hansen down to the mat. Hansen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Yu closes the distance and clinches.
Hansen tries to pull guard but Yu forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Hansen trying to land knees to the body.

Hansen manages to pull guard.
Yu is looking to advance position but Hansen has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Hansen controlling from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yu is looking to get to half guard.
Hansen controlling the position easily from mount.
Yu working to try and regain half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hansen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Yu is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fuk Yu will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hansen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Yu dives in and grabs Hansen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hansen pushes down on Yu's head and hops out.

Hansen tries to keep at a distance but Yu has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hansen misses with a punch to the body.
Yu tries to work over Hansen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hansen avoiding damage as Yu throws knees to the body.
Hansen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yu pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Yu tries to pull guard but Hansen won't allow it.

Hansen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Yu is defending well.
Stalling in the clinch from Yu.
Yu wants to get back to striking at distance but Hansen won't allow it.
Yu tries for a takedown but Hansen manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fuk Yu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yu tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hansen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Yu wants a takedown but no success here.
Hansen misses with a knee to the head.
Hansen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Yu up against the cage.
Yu tries to pull guard but Hansen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Yu is trying to break the clinch but Hansen has him pressed against the cage.

Hansen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Yu uses from the top position.
Hansen seems keen to control Yu's posture.
Yu postures up.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hansen managing to control the position.

Daniel Hansen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hansen pulls guard.
Yu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Yu looking to sit in guard and control but Hansen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hansen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Yu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Daniel Hansen will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Hansen clinches with his opponent.
Yu goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hansen prevents it.

Yu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Yu shoots in but Hansen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hansen fails to land the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Hansen. No joy for Yu on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fuk Yu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hansen wants to clinch
and Yu counters with a three punch combo that has Hansen backing up. Hansen nods at Yu to acknowledge the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hansen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yu defends well and Hansen ends up having to push Yu into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hansen is trying to pull guard but Yu turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Hansen tries for a takedown. No joy.
Yu jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hansen walks away with a smile on his face. Yu gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hansen wants to clinch up but Yu keeps it at a distance.
Hansen staying out of range there.
Hansen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hansen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Yu to the ground. Hansen is now in Yu's guard.
Hansen won't allow Yu to sweep him here.
Hansen prevents Yu from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hansen controlling from the top position.
Hansen stands and throws Yu's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Yu trying to remain calm as Hansen controls from the top position.
Yu is trying to improve his position.
Yu striking from the bottom but nothing landed.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hansen controls the position from side control.
You can see the frustration on Yu's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hansen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hansen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Yu is not content to let Hansen control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hansen controls the position from side control.
Hansen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Yu is trying to work for a sweep but Hansen has mounted him!

And that's the end of the fight!
Daniel Hansen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
