Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bobby Bays! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Buckley Armstrong! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Armstrong closes the distance and clinches up with Bays, looking for a takedown. Armstrong pushes Bays against the cage but Bays circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bays keeps the fight on the outside. Bays circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bays decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Bays wants to stand up but Armstrong is controlling the position.
Bays tries to pass to full mount but Armstrong defends it. Bays perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Armstrong is looking to improve his position.
Bays drops an elbow to the side of Armstrong's head. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bays lands a nice short elbow. Bays prevents Armstrong from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Armstrong is trying to stand.
Armstrong moves into full guard.
Armstrong looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Armstrong looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bays is one step ahead there. Bays controlling from the top position. Armstrong throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bays uses it to pass to side control.
Armstrong manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bays's best efforts. Armstrong trying to hold on to Bays's head to control him but Bays postures up.
Bays is pressing down on Armstrong's thigh, looking to free his foot. Armstrong is holding on for now. Bays is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bays is taking a breather. Armstrong says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Armstrong wants to improve his position but Bays is controlling well.
Armstrong looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Armstrong is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bays pulls his head out easily. Bays slows the pace down in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Armstrong looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bays instigates a clinch. Bays gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armstrong is trying to keep Bays in close.
Bays showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Armstrong is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Bays tries to stand but Armstrong is controlling from the bottom. Bays avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bays stands up from Armstrong's guard - Bays perhaps looking for a knockout. Bays looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Armstrong! Bays controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Armstrong working to try and regain half guard.
Bays manages to capitalize on a mistake by Armstrong to take his back! Armstrong wants to control his opponent's hands but Bays gets his hands free. Armstrong breaks Bays's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Armstrong tries to free his leg and advance position but Bays is retaining full guard. Armstrong is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bays is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bays has escaped and now he's on top! Bays is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Armstrong has an active guard here but Bays has managed to pass into half guard.

Armstrong had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bays is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Armstrong Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bays's back instead. Bays breaks Armstrong's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bays is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Bays wants to pass the guard but Armstrong is keeping the position.

Bays decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bobby Bays is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Armstrong fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bays sprawls well initially but Armstrong persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bays tries to kick Armstrong off but Armstrong keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Armstrong tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bays knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Armstrong passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bays! Bays wants to control but Armstrong is having none of it. Armstrong looking to isolate an arm here. Bays doesn't see it coming and as Armstrong extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Armstrong!
