Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Mafra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mafra comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the hell - Venom. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith moves into range and clinches up with Mafra.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Smith lands a good knee to the midsection. Mafra won't want to take too many of those.
Smith pushes off an throws an elbow but Mafra leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Smith tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mafra's elbow.

Mafra jumps guard but Smith turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Mafra drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smith pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smith tries to clinch but Mafra is having none of it.
Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Mafra circles away.

Mafra keeps the fight on the outside.
Matt Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mafra looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mafra shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smith defends it nicely.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mafra swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Smith tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mafra avoids it.
Mafra has had enough of the clinch but Smith keeps him there for the moment.

Mafra tries to pull guard but Smith won't allow it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mafra jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Mafra gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Smith has closed the distance and engaged Mafra in a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Smith.
Smith tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Smith throws a punch but it's blocked by Mafra.

Mafra pulls Smith into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mafra is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Mafra looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there.

Luigi Mafra has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Smith throws a leg kick but Mafra sees it coming and moves out of range.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Mafra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mafra misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mafra looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Smith!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mafra. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mafra throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Smith!
Smith is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Mafra has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Mafra has got one arm under Smith's chin. This could be trouble... Smith trying to control the other hand but Mafra gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Smith has tapped out! The fight is over!
