Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Byron Chandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luffy Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luffy Monkey will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monkey looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Chandler!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Monkey misses with the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Monkey is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chandler has escaped the position, nice work there.

Monkey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chandler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Chandler avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Monkey.

Monkey is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chandler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Chandler sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Chandler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Monkey's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Monkey's back!

Monkey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Monkey drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chandler looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chandler looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chandler!
Monkey wants to control but Chandler postures up.

Monkey is looking for a sweep.
Chandler postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Chandler lands some shots froms side control.

Chandler thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Chandler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Monkey is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Chandler creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Monkey is trying to control Chandler's posture but Chandler avoids it.
Monkey tries to buck Chandler off but Chandler is having none of it.
Chandler in side control lands a decent elbow.
Chandler landing a few strikes.
Chandler has control of an arm but Monkey manages to advance to Chandler's back!
Chandler is trying to get back to his feet but Monkey has full control of the position and if anything, Chandler has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Chandler has hold of Monkey's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts.

Monkey goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Chandler is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chandler passes Monkey's left leg - he's now in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Monkey tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Chandler has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

That was a close round but I would say that Byron Chandler will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Monkey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Monkey scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
It looks like Monkey is going to stand back up.
Monkey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Chandler is looking to improve his position.
Monkey thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Monkey is just content to waste time from the top position. Chandler takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Monkey drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Chandler dives on top into guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Monkey throws a head kick but Chandler moves out of range.
Monkey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chandler moves away.
Chandler shoots in looking for a takedown. Monkey tries to sprawl out of it but Chandler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Monkey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Monkey gets to his feet - Chandler follows without any prompting.

Chandler has taken the fight to the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Monkey throws an elbow that misses. Chandler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Monkey's guard. Nice move by Chandler!

Monkey has his hands on Chandler's head, controlling the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Monkey controls Chandler momentarily but Chandler frees himself.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Luffy Monkey wasn't active enough on the ground.

Chandler closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Chandler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Monkey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Monkey throws a leg kick but Chandler sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Chandler manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Monkey on his heels. He'll look to pass Monkey's guard now, I'm sure.

Monkey throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chandler escapes and throws Monkey's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chandler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
