PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between A J Hearts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tolo Seia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seia has chosen Limp Bizkit - Thieves as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, A J Hearts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tolo Seia!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Hearts lands an impressive looking overhand right. Seia doesn't seem phased though.
Seia slips under a jab.
Seia lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Seia thuds his shin into the meat of Hearts's side.
Seia stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Seia swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Seia checks a leg kick nicely.
Seia connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Seia fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
We've been informed that Seia has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Seia punishes Hearts's body with a nice straight punch.
Hearts tries for a takedown but Seia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Seia connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hearts throws a predictable looking body shot

It looks like A J Hearts has been cut.
A low kick from Seia is predictable there

so Hearts counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Seia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hearts in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Seia tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Seia looking to control.
Hearts looking to sit in guard and control but Seia gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Seia wants to pass the guard but Hearts is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hearts looking for a sweep. Not yet Hearts, not yet.
Hearts controls Seia momentarily but Seia frees himself.
Seia forces his way into half guard.
Hearts tries to roll over but Seia keeps him under control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hearts is trying to control but can't.
Seia performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A slow jab from Hearts misses its intended target.
Seia throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Seia throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice uppercut there from Seia.

Hearts gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hearts swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Seia misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Seia tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Seia working aggressively here.
Hearts tries a body shot but Seia blocks it.
Hearts misses with a short punch on the inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Seia creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Hearts has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Seia is trying to keep an underhook but Hearts manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hearts thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Seia has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hearts is working away from the top position though.
Hearts lands with a punch from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tolo Seia will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on A J Hearts's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hearts.
Seia is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
A telegraphed right hand from Seia misses the target.

Seia gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hearts to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hearts pushing down on Seia's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Hearts thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Seia's head.
Hearts working the head and body with strikes.
Hearts sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Seia defending well though.

Seia is refusing to be controlled, as Hearts sits in half guard.
Seia controlling the position well.
Hearts works his way into full mount!
Hearts raining down hammerfists from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Hearts! Seia is hurt baaadly! Hearts is firing away with more strikes - Seia is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). A J Hearts!
A very excited looking A J Hearts made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
