Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Kart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Shipwreck! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shipwreck dives in and grabs Kart's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kart pushes down on Shipwreck's head and hops out. Shipwreck closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kart circles away. Shipwreck will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nate Kart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Shipwreck. Shipwreck looks winded! Shipwreck shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kart counters with a nice body kick.
Kart shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Kart passes to full mount! Kart looking to control but Shipwreck is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kart looking to finish Shipwreck with some ground and pound. This is bad for Shipwreck! This has been an exciting period of action! Shipwreck keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kart is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Shipwreck is surviving well by controlling Kart's body position as best he can. Kart is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Shipwreck has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Shipwreck looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shipwreck is looking to get to half guard. Kart postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shipwreck looks a forlorn figure.
Shipwreck can't escape the position.
Kart unloads with some shots from mount but Shipwreck bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shipwreck can't escape the position.
Shipwreck gets back to half guard. Kart seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shipwreck does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shipwreck looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Kart is looking to advance position but Shipwreck won't allow it. Kart is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. That's three minutes gone in the round. Kart is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Shipwreck is wriggling around trying to escape.
Shipwreck slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Shipwreck actively working from the bottom here. Shipwreck looking for submissions off his back. Kart is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kart works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kart is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Shipwreck has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Shipwreck tries to reverse the position but Kart maintains control. Shipwreck slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Kart knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shipwreck on the ground. Shipwreck actively working from the bottom here. Shipwreck looking for subs from the bottom but Kart mounts him! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shipwreck is trying desperately to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nate Kart dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Shipwreck closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kart's guard. Mike Shipwreck has got the better of the ground game so far. Shipwreck stops Kart from standing up. Kart looking for a triangle here. Shipwreck is fighting it but it looks tight! Kart pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Shipwreck is tapping out - this one is all over!
