6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Byrne! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A decent looking body kick lands there for Lansky. Lansky closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Byrne is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Lansky is keeping busy. Lansky throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Byrnes head. Lansky swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Nice body punch from Lansky - that landed with a thud.
Lansky scores with a shot to the side of Byrne's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Byrne is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lansky to keep the fight standing. Lansky blocks an elbow strike from Byrne.
Lansky lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Byrne pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Lansky throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Byrnes head. Byrne looking to slow down the pace here. A quick uppercut on the inside from Lansky. Byrne looks to throw an elbow but misses. Lansky lands a body punch in the clinch. Byrne fails to pull guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Byrne fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Meyer Lansky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Byrne. Lansky lands an uppercut. Lansky misses with the head strike.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Byrne has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Lansky tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Byrne's elbow. Lansky makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Lansky lands a left hand.
Byrne using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lansky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
A nice right hand lands inside from Lansky. A hook to the body from Lansky.
Byrne looks winded! Lansky scores with an uppercut up the middle. Both fighters working to control the clinch. A right hand to the body from Lansky.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lansky can't find room to land a body shot as Byrne controls the action.

Lansky lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Lansky throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Byrnes head.
Byrne is rocked! Lansky tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Byrne's elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Byrne taking a breather. Nice body punch from Lansky. Good body shot from Lansky.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Lansky. Lansky lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Byrne backwards. Byrne is still on wobbly legs! Can Lansky finish him? Lansky lands a body shot. Byrne seems to have recovered his senses. Lansky lands a hook to the side of the head. Lansky scores with a nice hook to the head. Lansky throws a big uppercut that drops Byrne! More strikes from Lansky and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Byrne lies dazed against the cage as Lansky celebrates with his cornermen!
