Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Barns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rod Stiffington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stiffington comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stiffington rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Barns counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stiffington won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Stiffington felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Barns is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stiffington.

Barns thuds his right hand into Stiffington's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Stiffington slaps away a takedown attempt from Barns, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Barns fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stiffington to the ground. Barns is now in Stiffington's guard.

Stiffington is looking to cinch up a triangle. Barns throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Stiffington's body to avoid the submission. Stiffington has instead reached around Barns's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Stiffington arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
