The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parks closes the distance and clinches.
Parks crunches a lovely knee into Carpenter's ribcage.
Parks tries to pull guard but Carpenter forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Parks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carpenter defends well.

Carpenter wants to stand but Parks has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Carpenter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Parks has him pressed against the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parks can do anything to dispel that myth.
