Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Bruce! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Jackson! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruce throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jackson. Jackson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jackson misses with a head kick.
Bruce connects with a nice looking jab.
Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bruce checks a leg kick. Jackson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Some wild striking there from Bruce.
Bruce blocks a leg kick. We've been hearing reports that Bruce has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Jackson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Jackson throws a head kick that misses. Bruce throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Jackson moves out of range of the body kick. Jackson misses with a low kick.

This has been an exciting period of action! Jackson throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Bruce counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bruce.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson misses with a knee to the head. Bruce is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Bruce lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jackson backwards. Bruce lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Bruce just leaning against Jackson, taking a breather. A short right from Bruce on the inside. Jackson tries to land knees in the clinch but Bruce avoids the damage to the body. A nice left hand lands by Bruce.

Bruce utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bruce is controlling Jackson's posture. Bruce tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Bruce's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jackson is looking to pass into half guard but Bruce pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bruce is in guard. Jackson wants to stand up but Bruce is controlling him. Bruce works over Jackson with some ground and pound from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bruce lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Bruce advances to half guard. Bruce performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Jackson is pressing down on Bruce's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bruce cracks Jackson with a solid left hand. Bruce with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bruce stands up over Jackson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bruce forces his way into half guard. Bruce slips a nice elbow through Jackson's hands, connecting with Jackson's forehead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson tries to get to full guard but Bruce has control of the leg. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Bruce wants to pass to mount but Jackson is defending the position. Jackson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bruce controlling the action here. Bruce is keen to just control but Jackson is a slippery customer. Jackson is looking to escape. Bruce is looking to advance position but Jackson won't allow it. Bruce looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bruce is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bruce has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bruce not doing much here.
Bruce wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working. Bruce perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Jackson actively working from the bottom here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jackson is trying to get back to full guard. Jackson manages to get to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce lands a nice shot to the body. Bruce lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jackson backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bruce lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jackson backwards. A head punch on the inside from Jackson fails to land. Jackson tries to work over Bruce's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Bruce scores with a shoulder strike. Still in the clinch, Bruce scores with a nice short uppercut. Jackson is breathing heavily. Jackson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Bruce lands a shoulder strike.
Jackson is rocked! A short body shot lands from Bruce as the two fighters clinch.
Jackson is still on wobbly legs! Can Bruce finish him? Bruce lands a hook that snaps the head of Jackson backwards. Bruce lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Jackson to his knees! Bruce keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Bruce! Post fight, Jack Bruce stared into the camera and said 'thanks for coming to the fight. I will be even better then I was this fight next fight. hope you come watch again'.
