Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herrera shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fransco counters by clinching up.
Fransco manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Fransco bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fransco decides to stand up, so the ref orders Herrera to his feet.
Fransco feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fransco drops back, looking for a kneebar! Herrera looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Herrera looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Herrera!
