Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flavio Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Freddie Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flavio Sobral!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sobral moves into range and clinches up with Wallace.

Wallace gets control of Sobral's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wallace will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Wallace tries to strike from the bottom.
Wallace has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wallace is pulling down on Sobral's head. It's preventing any offense from Sobral, at least for the moment.
Sobral advances position into side control!
Sobral is trying to move to mount but Wallace reverses beautifully and ends up in Sobral's guard.
Wallace with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Wallace throws a big right hand that misses.
Wallace postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wallace's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Sobral controls Wallace momentarily but Wallace frees himself.
Wallace throws an elbow that misses. Sobral uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wallace's guard. Nice move by Sobral!
Wallace wants to control but Sobral passes easily into half guard.
Wallace really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sobral seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wallace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wallace flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Sobral prevents Wallace from improving his position.
Wallace manages to get to full guard.
Wallace keeping moving, preventing Sobral from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wallace is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Wallace winds up and cracks Sobral with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wallace lands a nice short elbow.

Wallace moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Sobral.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wallace cracks Sobral with a big right hand but Sobral just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Wallace is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sobral is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sobral tries to buck Wallace off but Wallace is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sobral is trying to control Wallace's posture but Wallace avoids it.
Sobral manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddie Wallace dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Wallace enables Sobral to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wallace manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Wallace wants to sweep here but Sobral controlling him for the moment.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Flavio Sobral hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
That kick from Sobral tenderised Wallace's leg. Wallace is trying to keep his angry face on.
Wallace takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sobral throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wallace was covering up waiting for the punch and Sobral finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wallace is looking to cinch up a triangle. Sobral throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Wallace's body to avoid the submission. Wallace has instead reached around Sobral's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Wallace arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Freddie Wallace!
