Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dibby Shtick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dean Larson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dibby Shtick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Larson! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Larson as Shtick shoots in. Larson has his takedown stuffed and Shtick counters with a nice double leg into side control. Larson won't be happy with that. Shtick decides to take the fight back to the feet. Shtick throws the kick towards the body but Larson avoids it. Larson slips a jab and a cross from Shtick.

Larson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Larson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Shtick tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Larson. Shtick is trying to control Larson's posture but Larson avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larson throwing strikes but Shtick manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Larson struggling a bit here. Larson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Shtick has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Larson tries for a takedown but Shtick circles away easily so Shtick counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Shtick stands up over Larson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Shtick wants to control from the top but Larson keeps moving. Larson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Shtick puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shtick tries to pass to full mount but Larson defends it. Shtick is breathing heavily. Larson trying to control here.
Larson actively working from the bottom here. Larson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Shtick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Shtick wants to control but Larson is keeping him busy.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Shtick shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Larson counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dibby Shtick. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shtick avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Larson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larson slows the pace down. Larson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Larson throws an elbow but Shtick slips to the side and avoids it well. Shtick is looking for a sweep. Check out the look on Larson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Larson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Shtick! Shtick is trying to escape the mount.
Larson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Shtick manages to avoid the submission attempt. Larson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Shtick is not content to let Larson control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dean Larson will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Shtick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Larson is trying to escape the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shtick is standing up, even though he is in mount. Shtick closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Shtick controlling the position. Dibby Shtick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shtick looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Larson is avoiding damage well.
Larson is trying to control Shtick's posture but Shtick avoids it. Shtick is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larson is looking for a sweep. Shtick moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Larson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shtick off and has taken his back! Larson trying to control momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Larson looking to hold on to the position here but Shtick rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Shtick is pulling down on Larson's head. It's preventing any offense from Larson, at least for the moment. Shtick trying to keep a closed guard but Larson is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shtick looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Larson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Shtick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Larson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shtick holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dibby Shtick dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Larson with a lazy takedown attempt and Shtick decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Larson's guard. Shtick tries to free his leg and advance position but Larson is retaining full guard. Larson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Shtick! Shtick really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shtick slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Larson postures up.
Shtick is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Larson dives into side control.

Shtick seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Shtick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

He's hooked one of Larson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Larson's back! Shtick has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Larson breaks Shtick's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Shtick has Larson pulled in close to control his posture. Larson trying to control the position from guard on top but Shtick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Dibby Shtick showed his dominance in that final round. I think Shtick has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
