Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ken Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Vazquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Stewart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Vazquez! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thud! ouch! good body kick from Vazquez - that will leave a mark!
Stewart shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vazquez pinned against the cage. Vazquez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vazquez clinches up with Stewart and pushes him back against the cage. Vazquez is looking to take this one to the mat.
Vazquez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vazquez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Stewart really is a fat lump. Vazquez misses with a takedown attempt - Stewart sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vazquez has closed the distance and engaged Stewart in a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Vazquez. Stewart is trying to stall.
Stewart looking for a takedown. Stewart is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vazquez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Stewart. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vazquez looking for a takedown. Stewart leaning against his opponent.
Vazquez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Stewart on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Vazquez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Stewart shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vazquez defends it nicely. Vazquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vazquez shoots in but no luck this time. Christian Vazquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stewart shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vazquez pinned against the cage. Vazquez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vazquez has taken the fight to the clinch.
Stewart is working for takedown but Vazquez is calmly controlling the position for now. Stewart really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Vazquez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Stewart uses from the top position. Stewart in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vazquez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stewart tries to hold on but Vazquez pushes him away.
Vazquez stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
 That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Stewart fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Vazquez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vazquez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vazquez darts in and clinches Stewart up against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vazquez gets underhooks to prevent Stewart's takedown attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vazquez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Christian Vazquez dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Stewart moves out of range of the body kick from Vazquez.
Vazquez drives through and clinches with Stewart against the cage.
Stewart has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Vazquez regains guard immediately. Vazquez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Vazquez wants to stand and escape but Stewart is having none of it. Stewart throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vazquez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Vazquez has his hands on Stewart's head, controlling the position. Vazquez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stewart tries to hold on but Vazquez pushes him away.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Vazquez looking to finish with strikes here!
Vazquez trying to control but Stewart is having none of it. Stewart tries to hold on but Vazquez pushes him away. Stewart regains half guard. Stewart misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Stewart is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vazquez pulls his head out easily. Stewart tries to kick Vazquez off but Vazquez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Vazquez wants to free his trapped foot but Stewart is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Vazquez wants to work for an arm triangle but Stewart is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Vazquez uses his free foot to push down on Stewart's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stewart. Vazquez wants to control the pace but Stewart is squirming around nicely. Vazquez controlling the position easily from mount. Vazquez throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Stewart because Vazquez loaded up on that one.
Vazquez stands up from mount. Strange move. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stewart keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vazquez fails with a takedown attempt. Vazquez is breathing heavily. Stewart fails with the takedown.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vazquez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Vazquez is trying to maintain a safe position but Stewart gets an underhook and turns Vazquez into the cage.
Vazquez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vazquez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Stewart gets tackled into the cage by Vazquez. Vazquez maintains the clinch. Vazquez jumps guard but Stewart turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Ken Stewart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Vazquez.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Stewart gets underhooks to prevent Vazquez's takedown attempt.
Stewart has Vazquez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vazquez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Vazquez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Vazquez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Stewart is trying to stall.
Vazquez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vazquez goes for a double leg but Stewart avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stewart continues to drive forward. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Christian Vazquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Vazquez is trying to break the clinch but Stewart is controlling him. The referee is keeping an eye on Vazquez - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Vazquez tries to pull guard but Stewart won't allow it.
Stewart's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Stewart gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Vazquez jumps guard.
Stewart postures up and lands a big shot to Vazquez's brow. Vazquez looking to control.
Stewart throws a big right hand that misses. Stewart missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Stewart postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vazquez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stewart is aware though and is defending well. Vazquez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stewart.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vazquez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stewart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stewart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Vazquez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stewart throws a big elbow that misses. Christian Vazquez has got the better of the ground game so far. Vazquez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stewart missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Stewart throws an elbow that misses. Vazquez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stewart's guard. Nice move by Vazquez! Stewart trying to control the position.
Stewart looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vazquez is one step ahead there. Stewart controls Vazquez momentarily but Vazquez frees himself.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Stewart is controlling Vazquez's posture. Stewart is striking but Vazquez is not phased and passes to half guard. Vazquez passes into side control, despite Stewart's attempt to control the position.
Stewart misses with a strike from the bottom.
Vazquez stands up. Stewart tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vazquez defends well and Stewart ends up having to push Vazquez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Stewart stalling against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Vazquez throws an elbow but misses. Stewart has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vazquez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Vazquez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Stewart. No joy for Vazquez on that attempt. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vazquez clinches up against the cage. Vazquez is trying to break free. Ken Stewart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Christian Vazquez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ken Stewart. Well Vazquez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
