PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Seth Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhaj Taibol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taibol comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Made of Scars kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rhaj Taibol!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Taibol as he avoids it easily.
Taibol fails with an attempt to clinch.

Brown darts in and clinches Taibol up against the cage.
Taibol prevents a takedown attempt there.
Taibol has had enough of the clinch but Brown keeps him there for the moment.

Brown has hold of one of Taibol's legs. Taibol is fighting the takedown attempt but Brown gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Taibol wants to stand up but Brown is controlling him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Taibol is looking for a sweep.

Brown decides to stand up, so the ref orders Taibol to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taibol shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Taibol was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Brown avoids a strike by Taibol and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Taibol's guard! Fantastic escape!

Brown changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Taibol looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Brown decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Brown gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brown manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Taibol tries to roll over but Brown keeps him under control.
Taibol has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brown is working away from the top position though.
Taibol is trying to stand up here but Brown is controlling him well.
Taibol is looking to control Brown's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Taibol avoid being mounted?

That was a close second round but I would say that Seth Brown will probably get the nod.

Brown has picked Taibol up - he's going for a ride! Brown dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brown shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Taibol counters with a nice leg kick.

Brown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Brown slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
