Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nichi Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stampe Eklund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hong comes to the cage accompanied by Hong Entrance Song. Eklund comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Troll - Trollberg kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Nichi Hong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nichi Hong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stampe Eklund! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hong attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Hong throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hong lands with a thumping leg kick.
Eklund ducks right into an uppercut from Hong. Hong changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Eklund lands with a right hand. An inside leg kick from Hong misses. A low kick from Hong is predictable there and Eklund counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hong is pulling down on Eklund's head to control his posture. Eklund trying to control the position from guard on top but Hong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Eklund in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Eklund throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hong controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hong keeping moving, preventing Eklund from controlling successfully. Hong is controlling Eklund's posture.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hong misses the shot to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Hong. Eklund does a little dance to reset his feet. Eklund uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hong.
Hong fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Eklund on the side of the head. Eklund takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Eklund ducks under a wild hook from Hong. Hong's corner calls for a 1-2. Hong obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Eklund defending well as Hong loads up on a big left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eklund lands a lovely overhand right. Hong connects with a leg kick. Eklund looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Eklund checks a leg kick. Eklund throws a body shot but no joy. Eklund throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hong has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mandirigmang Pilipino in the buildup to the fight. Eklund doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hong throws a wild body kick that Eklund sees coming a mile off. Hong scores with a leg kick.
Hong staying out of range there. Eklund moves into range and connects with a jab. Eklund tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Hong's corner calls for a 1-2. Hong throws a looping overhand right but Eklund ducks down to avoid it. Hong with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hong throws a leg kick that is checked and Eklund counters with a takedown into side control. Hong defending against the ground and pound. Eklund trying to control the position but Hong is working away. Hong tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hong gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eklund thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hong's head. Eklund looks to land a strike but Hong avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Eklund won't allow Hong to sweep him here. Hong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Eklund works his way to full guard. Good work. Eklund looking for a sweep. Not yet Eklund, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eklund keeping moving, preventing Hong from controlling successfully. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Eklund trying to control the position.
Hong won't allow Eklund to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nichi Hong dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
A jab from Eklund misses. A big left from Hong misses. Eklund looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hong closes the distance and lands a one-two. Hong instigates a clinch. Hong with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Eklund will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hong up against the cage. Eklund lands a body punch in the clinch. Eklund misses with a punch on the inside.
Eklund lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Hong avoids the elbow strike from Eklund, against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round. A short left from Hong. Hong scores with a shot to the side of Eklund's head. A head punch on the inside from Eklund fails to land. Eklund tries to score a body lock takedown but Hong shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Hong misses with a knee strike.

Hong is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Hong lands a right hand that snaps the head of Eklund backwards. Hong lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hong with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hong tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hong lands with a left to the head. Hong utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. A nice glancing elbow lands by Eklund. Eklund has thrown a lot of knees so far in this fight and we're lead to believe that's something he's been working on the gym prior to this fight. Eklund digs a right hand underneath Hong's ribcage. Hong let out a lung full of air as it connected. Eklund's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Hong tries a body shot but Eklund blocks it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Eklund drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hong gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Nichi Hong has scored more points in the clinch so far. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Eklund can't find room to land a body shot as Hong controls the action.

Nichi Hong dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Hong throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hong throws out a loose jab but Eklund uses good head movement to avoid it. Hong has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hong there as he acknowledges the shot. A jab from Hong does it's job there. Hong connects with a solid leg kick. Eklund bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A big right from Eklund misses. Nichi Hong is winning the standup battle so far. Eklund on the wrong end of a nice hook. Eklund ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Hong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Eklund throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hong blocks it with crossed arms. Hong pushes Eklund back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Hong struggles to land a body shot inside as Eklund controls his hands.

Nichi Hong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stampe Eklund. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hong is working Eklund over against the cage. Eklund takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Eklund taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Hong is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Eklund postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Eklund wants to control from the top but Hong keeps moving. Stampe Eklund has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hong is adopting a defensive guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Nichi Hong showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
