Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gordon Perkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Santino Pozzi! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perkins is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pozzi. Pozzi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Perkins defends it nicely. Pozzi fails with the takedown
and Perkins moves into the clinch. Pozzi throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Pozzi is trying to break the clinch but Perkins has him pressed against the cage. Pozzi is trying to push Perkins away but Perkins has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Pozzi lands a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Perkins looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Perkins is working hard here to advance position. Perkins controlling Pozzi's posture. Perkins tries to land a sweep but no joy. Perkins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Perkins is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pozzi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
 The ref stands the fighters back up. Gordon Perkins wasn't doing enough on the ground. Pozzi fails with a takedown attempt. Gordon Perkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santino Pozzi. Perkins on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Pozzi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pozzi drives through and clinches with Perkins against the cage.
Perkins has Pozzi pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Perkins pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pozzi tumbling to the mat - Perkins dives into Pozzi's guard. Pozzi wants to control but Perkins passes easily into half guard.
Perkins misses with a head shot. Pozzi uses the momentum to regain guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Pozzi working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Perkins. Perkins is looking to work some ground and pound but Pozzi has wrist control. Pozzi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Perkins is looking to work some ground and pound but Pozzi has wrist control. Pozzi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pozzi wants to sweep but no luck. Perkins wanted to stand there but Pozzi had control of the position. Perkins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Perkins is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Perkins lands a couple of elbows. Perkins is working Pozzi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Perkins in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

and Perkins counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pozzi trying to control from the bottom.
Perkins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pozzi sees it coming and defends easily. Pozzi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perkins sitting and controlling from the half guard. Perkins prevents Pozzi from improving his position.
Perkins is working for a kimura but Pozzi is defending it quite comfortably.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Perkins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pozzi sees it coming and defends easily. Pozzi is looking to control Perkins's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pozzi avoid being mounted? Pozzi slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Perkins working some strikes from top position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Perkins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Perkins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Perkins has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pozzi is proving hard to escape from. Perkins won't allow Pozzi to get back to his feet.
Pozzi is working an open guard so Perkins takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Perkins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pozzi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pozzi moves into the clinch successfully.

Perkins landing knees to the body.
Perkins works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Perkins stopping the sweep attempt from Pozzi. Pozzi has a closed guard, preventing Perkins from standing up. Perkins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pozzi tries to strike from the bottom.
Pozzi doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Perkins stands up over Pozzi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Perkins in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Perkins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pozzi trying to keep a closed guard but Perkins is proving a slippery customer.
Perkins won't allow Pozzi to sweep him here.
Pozzi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Perkins is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pozzi. A lull in the action here as Perkins stalls from top position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gordon Perkins dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pozzi tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Perkins avoids it. Pozzi throws a knee to the head but misses.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Perkins avoiding damage as Pozzi throws knees to the body.
Pozzi tries to circle away but Perkins has him pinned against the cage. Pozzi is trying to pull guard but Perkins turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Perkins is defending well against a takedown attempt. Gordon Perkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santino Pozzi. Perkins's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Perkins is looking to take this one to the mat. Pozzi tries to break the clinch but Perkins is controlling the position. Pozzi is trying to pull guard but Perkins has him pressed against the cage. Pozzi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Perkins has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. A nice right hand lands inside from Pozzi.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Pozzi fails to pull guard.
Pozzi slowing the pace effectively. Pozzi jumps guard but Perkins stands there with Pozzi around his waist. Pozzi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Perkins. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Pozzi. Pozzi wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Perkins drags the fight down to the ground.
Pozzi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Perkins looking to control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Perkins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Perkins wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
 We're going to have a standup here because Gordon Perkins wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Perkins's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Perkins landing with the ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gordon Perkins. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Perkins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
