Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Tam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnus Magnuson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Magnuson's choice of entrance music: Thus Spake Zarathustra. Magnus Magnuson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Tam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Magnus Magnuson! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tam shoots in and bounces Magnuson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Magnuson working for a triangle but Tam defends it easily.
Magnuson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tam manages to get himself to full guard.
Tam escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Magnuson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tam is breathing heavily. Magnuson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tam swivels though and keeps the full guard. Magnuson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Magnuson passes into half guard. Magnuson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tam defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magnuson is looking for a kimura but Tam is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Magnuson to get the leverage. Tam wants to improve his position but Magnuson is controlling well.
Tam moves into full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Magnuson gets to his feet - Tam follows without any prompting. Magnuson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Tam keeps the fight on the outside. Magnuson scores with a push kick. Magnuson darts in and clinches Tam up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magnuson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tam avoids a kick to the body.
Tam keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Magnuson. Tam misses with a takedown attempt - Magnuson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Magnuson drives through with a takedown into guard. Magnuson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Magnuson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tam is keeping the position for now. Magnuson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tam pushes a forearm under Magnuson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Magnuson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
