The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tumeno gets a double leg takedown into Hale's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Tumeno gets to his feet. Hale looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hale throws a head kick but Tumeno moves out of range.

Tumeno drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hale looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hale looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hale!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tumeno manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Hale keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Tumeno is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Tumeno is trying to trip Hale. He has hold of a leg but Hale is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Tumeno persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hale is looking to get back to full guard here but Tumeno has managed to pass to side control instead.

That's time! Hale's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Tumeno throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hale tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tumeno is in Hale's guard.

Tumeno tightens his grip and picks Hale up, before dumping him to the ground. Hale manages to land in guard.

Hale manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Tumeno bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Tumeno stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hale swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Garong Tumeno wasn't active enough on the ground.

Tumeno's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tumeno fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hale has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Tumeno ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tumeno no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hale wants to stand up but Tumeno is controlling the position.
Tumeno has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hale is working away from the top position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Francis Hale has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Garong Tumeno is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Tumeno feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Tumeno has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
