Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Angelos Stamatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Adler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stamatis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Audiomachine - Earth Shaker. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Angelos Stamatis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Adler! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stamatis. Dan Adler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Adler takes a swing at Stamatis's ribcage but misses. Stamatis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Adler did well to prevent Stamatis getting side control. Stamatis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Stamatis working Adler over with strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Adler can do anything to dispel that myth. Stamatis thows a huge punch but Adler dodges it nicely.
Stamatis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Adler's head. Stamatis winds up and cracks Adler with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Adler is trying to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stamatis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. That's one minute gone in the round. Stamatis trying to control from half guard but Adler is working away. We've been hearing good reports from Stamatis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Adler tries to get to full guard but Stamatis has control of the leg. Adler blocking the ground and pound attempt from Stamatis. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stamatis content to control rather than advance. Adler keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Stamatis drops an elbow to the side of Adler's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Stamatis wants to pass to mount but Adler is defending the position. Stamatis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Stamatis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Stamatis looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Stamatis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stamatis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Stamatis lands strikes from half guard. Adler keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Adler holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Stamatis wants to control but Adler is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adler regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Stamatis. Stamatis looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Stamatis with a nice head shot there. Stamatis is looking to work some ground and pound but Adler has wrist control. Adler avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Adler pulls Stamatis in to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stamatis slips under a jab. Adler bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Stamatis's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Adler works the jab nicely. Stamatis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Stamatis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Adler is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stamatis scores with a couple of nice shots. Adler is controlling Stamatis's position as best he can from this difficult position. Stamatis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Adler controlling the position well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stamatis thows a huge punch but Adler dodges it nicely.

Stamatis's corner calls for a 1-2. Stamatis obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Adler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stamatis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Adler working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stamatis. Stamatis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Adler can do to turn this around? Stamatis postures up in Adler's guard and throws a big left but Adler blocks it. Stamatis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Stamatis wants to control from the top but Adler keeps moving. Stamatis with a nice head shot there. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Adler swats away the attempt to clinch by Stamatis. Adler misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Adler connects with a nice looking jab.

Stamatis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Adler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Stamatis passes Adler's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Stamatis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Adler defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stamatis. Adler lands with a good body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Adler connects with a right hand. Stamatis shakes it off. Dan Adler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Angelos Stamatis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Adler throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Stamatis on the side of the head. Stamatis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adler swats him away and circles back towards the center. No joy there for Adler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Adler looks to land a combination but Stamatis avoids it well. Stamatis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Adler. A jab from Adler misses. Stamatis just misses with a punch to the body.
Stamatis moves out of range of the strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stamatis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Adler sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stamatis somewhat. Stamatis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Adler.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Adler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Stamatis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
