Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alfred Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jocimar Isnaldum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Alfred Alexander has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alfred Alexander! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jocimar Isnaldum! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Isnaldum decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Isnaldum content to control rather than advance. Isnaldum's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. It looks like Isnaldum is going to stand back up.
Isnaldum is working for a submission of some sort.
Alexander is looking for a sweep. Isnaldum is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Alexander keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Alexander trying to get back to full guard but Isnaldum takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Isnaldum pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Alexander tries to hold on but Isnaldum pushes him away. Alexander working to try and regain half guard.
Alexander knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Isnaldum on the ground. Alexander wants to control but Isnaldum is having none of it. BOOM! Isnaldum connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Isnaldum controlling from mount. Alexander is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexander is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Isnaldum looking to finish Alexander with some ground and pound. This is bad for Alexander! Isnaldum looking to control and managing it successfully. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alexander is wriggling around trying to escape.
Isnaldum controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Isnaldum stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Isnaldum feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Isnaldum is looking to work some ground and pound but Alexander has wrist control. Isnaldum trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Alexander might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Alexander is looking to stand up but Isnaldum isn't so interested in that idea. Isnaldum has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alexander is proving hard to escape from. Isnaldum advances position into side control! Isnaldum wants to stand but Alexander is controlling his arm. Isnaldum creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Alexander sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Alexander could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Isnaldum tries to stand but Alexander is controlling his head. Isnaldum wants to control but Alexander is keeping him busy. Alexander is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Isnaldum has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alexander tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Alexander is breathing heavily. Isnaldum is looking to control Alexander but Alexander is wriggling around and keeping busy. Can Alexander hold on?! Isnaldum is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Isnaldum slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alexander trying to control the action but Isnaldum just sinks the hooks in. Isnaldum lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jocimar Isnaldum dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Alexander throws a leg kick that misses. Isnaldum tries a head kick but it misses.
Alexander gets tackled into the cage by Isnaldum. Isnaldum maintains the clinch. Alexander changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Isnaldum fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Alexander slips a jab and a cross from Isnaldum.
Isnaldum rushes Alexander and presses him up against the cage. Isnaldum is trying to trip Alexander. He has hold of a leg but Alexander is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Isnaldum persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Alexander wants to sweep here but Isnaldum controlling him for the moment.

Isnaldum is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Isnaldum pushing down on Alexander's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Isnaldum is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Alexander wants to control but Isnaldum is keeping busy.
Isnaldum postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Alexander to stand up. Isnaldum feints and as Alexander raises his hands in defense, Isnaldum changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Alexander has control of Isnaldum's left arm, preventing Isnaldum from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexander's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Isnaldum slips nicely into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Alexander is in trouble now - Isnaldum has advanced to mount! Isnaldum is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Alexander can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Isnaldum content just to control the position here. Alexander is trying to stand. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Isnaldum lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Isnaldum lands a big elbow. Isnaldum lands a big shot there that rocks Alexander but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alexander wants to hold on but Isnaldum pushes him away. Isnaldum controlling his opponent. Isnaldum looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Alexander tries to hold on but Isnaldum pushes him away. Isnaldum lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Alexander hang on? Isnaldum looking to finish Alexander with some ground and pound. This is bad for Alexander! A nice elbow there by Isnaldum. Isnaldum takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Let's hope that Isnaldum has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alexander wants to control but Isnaldum is having none of it.

This isn't 1993 though, so Alexander shrugs it off. Jocimar Isnaldum has got the better of the ground game so far. Isnaldum looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jocimar Isnaldum showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Isnaldum has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alexander is proving hard to escape from. Isnaldum has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Isnaldum slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Alexander trying to remain calm as Isnaldum controls from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alexander on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Isnaldum working the head and body with strikes. Alexander tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Isnaldum wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Alexander is trying to work for a sweep but Isnaldum has mounted him! Alexander wants to hold on but Isnaldum pushes him away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alexander tries to lock up and control but Isnaldum gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Isnaldum breaks from Alexander's wrist control and lands an elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Isnaldum sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Isnaldum is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Alexander to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Alexander shrugs it off.

Isnaldum not allowing Alexander to control his hands. Isnaldum has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Isnaldum is landing with strikes. Alexander can't take much more of this. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alexander looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Alfred Alexander has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jocimar Isnaldum is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
And that's the end of the fight! Jocimar Isnaldum comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Isnaldum has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
