Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee Murray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Van Der Sluijs! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murray throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Van Der Sluijs avoids the head kick by Murray.
Murray lands a nice looking kick to the body. Van Der Sluijs takes a step back to recover. Murray misses with a head kick.
Murray misses with a body kick. Murray throws a head kick that Van Der Sluijs semi-blocks.
It looks like James Van Der Sluijs has been cut. Van Der Sluijs slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. A nice leg kick lands there from Van Der Sluijs. Murray has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ELITE GYM 40CAP in the buildup to the fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Van Der Sluijs moves out of range of the leg kick from Murray. Murray tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Murray lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Van Der Sluijs swings away with a leg kick that misses. Murray slips under a jab from Van Der Sluijs. Van Der Sluijs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Murray moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murray takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Van Der Sluijs connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Murray's hands. Van Der Sluijs chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Murray can pounce on him.
Murray closes the distance and clinches. Van Der Sluijs blocks a body shot from Murray. Murray lands a body punch in the clinch. Van Der Sluijs working aggressively here.
Van Der Sluijs takes a shot to the head. Murray manages to break the clinch.
Murray dodges the punch combination from Van Der Sluijs.
Murray throws a leg kick but Van Der Sluijs sees it coming and checks it nicely. Van Der Sluijs blocks the body kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Murray blocks a head kick by Van Der Sluijs.

Van Der Sluijs tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Murray's elbow. Murray tries to work over Van Der Sluijs's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Murray lands a nice shot to the body. Murray throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Van Der Sluijss head. Murray escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Van Der Sluijs lunges at Murray with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Murray's hand. Van Der Sluijs pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Nice body punch from Murray. Van Der Sluijs is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Murray. Van Der Sluijs scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Murray defending well as Van Der Sluijs loads up on a big left hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Murray takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Der Sluijs throws a good cross that connects.
Murray throws a low kick but Van Der Sluijs avoids it. Van Der Sluijs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. James Van Der Sluijs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murray clinches with his opponent.
Van Der Sluijs tries to stall but Murray uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Murray pushes Van Der Sluijs back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Van Der Sluijs misses with a punch on the inside.
Murray lands a right hand that snaps the head of Van Der Sluijs backwards. Good body shot from Murray.
Murray lands a left hand.
Van Der Sluijs's coach down at The Boom Boom Room was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Van Der Sluijs's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Murray slows down the pace here.
Murray blocking some punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Murray lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Murray digs a right hand into Van Der Sluijs's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Van Der Sluijs's gas tank. Nice body punch from Murray. Van Der Sluijs looks winded! Murray's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Murray dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Van Der Sluijs's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Van Der Sluijs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Murray fakes the leg kick and cracks Van Der Sluijs in the body. Murray fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Murray dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Van Der Sluijs. That did some damage! Murray lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Van Der Sluijs has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Murray. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Murray getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Murray throws a push kick but Van Der Sluijs slaps the foot to one side. Lee Murray is winning the standup battle so far. A thudding body kick lands there by Murray!
A slapping body kick lands there for Murray. Van Der Sluijs is breathing heavily. Van Der Sluijs walks straight into a right hand from Murray - that's dropped him! Murray jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Van Der Sluijs from any more punishment! Van Der Sluijs complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lee Murray! Post fight, an emotional Lee Murray said 'Was that one of the worlds best fighters I just beat? Wow!'.
