Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Geeves Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galaxy Nexus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armstrong's entrance music is Kickstart My Heart. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Galaxy Nexus!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nexus throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Armstrong.
Nexus lands a jab to the head.
Armstrong drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Armstrong ducks under a wild hook from Nexus.
Nexus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Armstrong was well out of range. Poor timing from Nexus.
Nexus throws a body punch but Armstrong moves out of range.
Nexus shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Armstrong as he avoids it easily.
Armstrong takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Armstrong throws a half hearted mid kick.
Armstrong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab from Nexus misses.
Armstrong misses with a looping right.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Armstrong takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Armstrong scores with a spinning back kick!

Nexus is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Armstrong's half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Nexus prevents Armstrong from improving his position.

Nexus thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Armstrong's head.
Armstrong keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Nexus not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Nexus throwing shots but Armstrong is blocking nicely.

Armstrong is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Blitzkrieg Fighting Systems: Ground that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Nexus working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Armstrong throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Nexus working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Nexus perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Nexus is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nexus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Armstrong keeps working.

Nexus scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Armstrong is rocked!
Nexus lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Armstrong! More strikes land and this one is all over! Nexus jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Galaxy Nexus!
Galaxy Nexus was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
