1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitri Anatolievich Alenitchev! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zaromskis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alenitchev is fending him off so far but Zaromskis persists. Nope, Alenitchev circles away and we're back to standing. Zaromskis misses with a head kick.

Zaromskis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alenitchev on the ground. Alenitchev manages to get back to half guard. Zaromskis slows the pace down in half guard. Alenitchev wants to improve his position but Zaromskis is controlling well.

Zaromskis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Alenitchev is looking for a sweep. Zaromskis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Alenitchev doesn't succeed with the takedown and Zaromskis counters by moving into the clinch. Knees in the clinch landing for Zaromskis.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Left hook, right uppercut from Zaromskis. Zaromskis shoots in looking for a takedown. Alenitchev tries to sprawl out of it but Zaromskis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alenitchev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Alenitchev misses with a takedown and Zaromskis counters with a three punch combo that has Alenitchev backing up. Alenitchev nods at Zaromskis to acknowledge the strikes. Marius Zaromskis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitri Anatolievich Alenitchev. Nice takedown defense from Zaromskis. No joy for Alenitchev on that attempt. Alenitchev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Alenitchev shoots in from a long way out. Good work there from Zaromskis! Alenitchev is looking to reverse the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Zaromskis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alenitchev, who protects the arm well. Alenitchev manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alenitchev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zaromskis as he jumps to the side. Alenitchev doesn't succeed with the takedown and Zaromskis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Alenitchev stuffs the takedown attempt from Zaromskis. Zaromskis gets slowly back to his feet. Zaromskis scores with a kick to the body.
Zaromskis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Alenitchev with a lazy takedown attempt and Zaromskis counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Marius Zaromskis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitri Anatolievich Alenitchev. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Zaromskis prevents a takedown attempt there.
