Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JJ Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Vos is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, JJ Shaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Vos! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vos moves away from the strike by Shaw. Shaw bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Vos lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Vos swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Vos misses the shot to the body. Vos scores with a nice right hand.
Vos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shaw. Vos lands with a nice combination. Shaw backs away looking to recover. Vos lands with a hook. Shaw tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Jake Vos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vos misses with an uppercut. Shaw saw that one coming. A swing and a miss from Vos. Shaw takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Shaw scores with a takedown into Vos's guard. Shaw has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Vos throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Shaw scoring with some ground and pound. Vos looking to control.
Shaw trying to control the position from guard on top but Vos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vos looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Vos looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Shaw has picked Vos up and slammed him! Vos can't keep hold of the triangle and Shaw manages to pass to side control! Shaw cracks Vos with an elbow. That is naaassty. Shaw is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vos knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Shaw wants to control but Vos is keeping him busy. Vos can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vos gets back to half guard. Vos taking some punishment here, with Shaw in his half guard. Shaw prevents Vos from improving his position. Shaw is thwarting Vos's attempts to control the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Vos is concentrating on defense, preventing Shaw from advancing position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. JJ Shaw wasn't doing enough on the ground. Vos feints a jab promting Shaw to slip. Vos then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shaw slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Shaw is rocked! Shaw walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Vos! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jake Vos! After winning the bout, Jake Vos thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
