The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kapena misses with a wild body shot.
Kapena scores with a jab.
Calvancante fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kapena avoids it really well and circles away.
Kapena jabs at Calvancante's body.

Kalani Kapena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kapena throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Calvancante drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Calvancante is pushing down on Kapena's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kapena is fighting to maintain full guard but Calvancante has managed to sneak the leg through.
Calvancante is looking to take a break and control but Kapena is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Calvancante is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Kapena really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Calvancante. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
