Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pawel Konopacki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phoenix's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Phoenix. Simon Phoenix has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Simon Phoenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Pawel Konopacki!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix staying out of range there.
Phoenix throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Konopacki moves in looking to clinch but Phoenix pushes him off.
Phoenix tries to clinch up.
Phoenix tries to close the distance and clinch up but Konopacki swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Konopacki on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
A head kick misses from Phoenix.
Phoenix finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Konopacki takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Phoenix lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Konopacki just misses with a punch to the body.
Phoenix avoids the head kick by Konopacki.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Phoenix looks for the body kick but Konopacki saw that one coming.
A chopping leg kick lands by Phoenix.
Konopacki lands with a right hand.

and Konopacki counters with a single leg into guard. Phoenix didn't expect that.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Phoenix keeping moving, preventing Konopacki from controlling successfully.
Konopacki wants to pass the guard but Phoenix is keeping the position.
Phoenix is trying to control the position but Konopacki postures up.

Konopacki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Konopacki lands a couple of digs.
Konopacki trying to control the position from guard on top but Phoenix is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Konopacki won't allow Phoenix to sweep him here.
Konopacki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Konopacki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Phoenix is keeping the position for now.
Phoenix wants to hit a switch here but Konopacki passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Phoenix there!

Konopacki prevents Phoenix from getting the reversal.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Konopacki looking to control but Phoenix is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Konopacki raining down shots from the mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee warns Phoenix that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Phoenix is in a horrible position here. Konopacki smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Phoenix is looking to improve his position but Konopacki isn't that keen on the idea.

Konopacki with a couple of short strikes.
Phoenix working to try and regain half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Konopacki postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Phoenix looks a forlorn figure.

Konopacki lands a heavy elbow.
Phoenix is looking to improve his position but Konopacki isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
BOOM! Konopacki connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Phoenix regains half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Konopacki working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Phoenix trying to control but Konopacki postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pawel Konopacki dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Phoenix tries a head kick but it misses.
Phoenix scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Konopacki plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Phoenix swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Phoenix throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Konopacki connects with a solid leg kick.
Konopacki misses with a straight right.

Oooooh!!! Phoenix has knocked Konopacki down with a huge combo! Phoenix steps away and waves a wobbly Konopacki back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Konopacki is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Phoenix cracks Konopacki on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Konopacki falls backwards against the cage. Phoenix follows up with more strikes that drop Konopacki to his knees. Phoenix keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Konopacki! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon Phoenix!
An intense looking Simon Phoenix took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'I'm back baby! The trick was a stopped smoking crack.'.
