PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Felix Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sten Carlssen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by Queensryche - Jet City Woman. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson keeps the fight on the outside.
Carlssen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Carlssen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anderson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Carlssen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Anderson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carlssen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Carlssen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sten Carlssen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Anderson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carlssen to the mat! Carlssen manages to get full guard.

Carlssen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Anderson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Carlssen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Anderson's back instead.
Carlssen is trying to stick to Anderson's back but Anderson is turning into Carlssen. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Carlssen's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Anderson.

Anderson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carlssen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Anderson is nestled in close to Carlssen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Anderson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Carlssen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Carlssen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Anderson just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
