Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bjorn Eriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bjorn Eriksson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong throws a front kick aimed at Eriksson's knee but Eriksson avoids it well.
Eriksson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Eriksson throws a nice looking combination but Armstrong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A clash of legs there as Eriksson blocks the low kick.
A head kick misses from Armstrong.
A big left from Armstrong misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Eriksson misses the target.
Armstrong misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Eriksson checks a low kick from Armstrong.
Armstrong connects with a nice looking jab.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eriksson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Eriksson has hold of Armstrong's hands but Armstrong slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Armstrong is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Eriksson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Armstrong lands a nice short elbow.

Armstrong seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

We've been hearing good reports from Armstrong's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

After winning the bout, Bruce Armstrong thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
