Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Salek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Carey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Salek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Carey! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carey throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Carey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salek pinned against the cage. Salek gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Carey fails to land the takedown. Carey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Salek tries to avoid it but Carey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Salek to the ground. Salek escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rob Salek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Carey. Carey shoots in but Salek avoids the takedown attempt easily. Salek lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Salek drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Salek wanted to stand there but Carey had control of the position. Carey has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Salek has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carey is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salek wants to stand and escape but instead Carey has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carey wants to control from the top but Salek keeps moving. Salek scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Salek dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Carey. That did some damage! Carey fails with the takedown and Salek counters with a thumping low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salek throws a leg kick but Carey moved away. Salek misses with a hook. The fight moves into the clinch position. Salek lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Tom Carey has been cut. Salek tries to land knees in the clinch but Carey avoids the damage to the body. Stalling in the clinch from Salek.
Carey wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Carey takes an elbow to the forehead. Salek is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Carey can't fight it off and eventually Salek manages to take the fight to the floor. Carey looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Carey looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Salek wants to stand but Carey has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Salek stands up and waves to Carey to follow him. Carey looks to throw the jab but Salek is out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Carey takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Salek tries to clinch but Carey moves out of range. Salek clinches with his opponent.
Carey tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Salek just stands there and leans against the cage. Carey drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Salek lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Carey takes a shot to the head. Salek throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Carey blocks it with crossed arms. Salek lands an elbow inside. Salek working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Salek works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Carey has had enough of the clinch but Salek keeps him there for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Salek seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Salek tries to land a knee to the head but Carey blocks with his arms.

Salek pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Salek here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Salek misses with a leg kick and Carey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Carey swats away the attempt to clinch by Salek. Carey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Salek counters with a nice double leg into guard. Carey is breathing heavily. Carey controls Salek momentarily but Salek frees himself. Salek wanted to stand there but Carey had control of the position.

Salek tries to stand but Carey is controlling from the bottom. Carey had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Salek is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Carey Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Salek's back instead. Salek looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Salek holding both Carey 's hands and preventing any damage. Salek manages to escape to his feet. Salek rushes Carey and presses him up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Carey blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Salek can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carey controls the pace. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carey with a flurry of punches that miss. Salek fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Carey pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Salek lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Carey has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Carey and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Carey has his takedown stuffed and Salek counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Salek decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Salek misses with a few strikes there.
Carey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Salek counters with a left to the body. Salek gets a clinch. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Carey blocks an elbow strike from Salek.

He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carey was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Salek bucks up and throws Carey to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
