A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sobolev.
A good leg kick by Sanford.
Sobolev avoids the head kick by Sanford.

It looks like Vasiliy Sobolev has been cut.
Sobolev seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Sobolev connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Sobolev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanford's waist but Sanford gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sobolev off to one side.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sobolev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sanford as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vasiliy Sobolev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sobolev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sanford defends well and Sobolev ends up having to push Sanford into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanford lands with a kick to the temple. Sobolev shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Fred Sanford is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sanford tries a head kick but it misses.
Sanford connects with a leg kick. Sobolev looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Sobolev dives in for a single leg takedown but Sanford sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Sobolev has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sanford avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Sobolev goes for a takedown attempt but Sanford pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sobolev doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Sobolev is breathing heavily.
Sanford fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sobolev has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sanford blocks a jab.

Sobolev closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Vasiliy Sobolev's cut is getting worse.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Sanford - that will leave a mark!
Sanford attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Sanford displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sobolev.
Sanford pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Sobolev back to the cage. Sanford follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Sanford throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sobolev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sanford.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sanford tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sanford connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sobolev's hands.
A slapping leg kick lands for Sanford.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Sanford! Sobolev is out on his feet! Sanford rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Sobolev is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Sobolev is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Sanford!
