PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brett Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendrick Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Break Stuff kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brett Snow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kendrick Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Snow closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Snow fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Snow goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Garcia has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Snow but great work by Garcia.
Snow wants to control but Garcia postures up.
Snow really is a fat lump.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snow is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Snow struggling a bit here.

Garcia stands up.
Snow misses with a looping left.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Snow is looking to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Snow misses with a few strikes there.
Nice shot by Snow.

Snow manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Garcia on his heels. He'll look to pass Garcia's guard now, I'm sure.
Snow trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Snow stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Garcia dodges the punch combination from Snow.
Snow tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Garcia counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Snow pulls Garcia in close to his closed guard and prevents Garcia from doing any damage or advancing position.
Garcia trying to stand up but can't free himself from Snow's guard.
Garcia looks winded!
Snow controls Garcia momentarily but Garcia frees himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Snow is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Snow pushes Garcia off and scrambles back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Snow dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Snow.
Garcia avoids a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snow swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Snow tries to clinch but Garcia moves out of range.

Snow fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Garcia, pushing him back against the cage.

Snow manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Snow trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Snow is trying to control the position but Garcia postures up.
Snow is controlling Garcia's posture.
Snow's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Snow looking to hit a scissor sweep but Garcia is one step ahead there.
Snow has his hands on Garcia's head, controlling the position.
Snow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brett Snow wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Snow fails with an attempt to clinch.

Garcia circles away from the clinch attempt

and Garcia counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Snow's guard now.
Snow not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Snow is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Snow is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Garcia is controlling him.
Snow wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garcia is breathing heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brett Snow wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Snow has Garcia up against the cage in a clinch.

Snow has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Garcia clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Snow dominated that second round.
That's time! Snow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Snow scores with a takedown into Garcia's guard.

Snow drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Garcia dives on top into guard.
Snow pulls Garcia in close to prevent any damage.

Snow not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Brett Snow overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Snow controlling Garcia's posture.
Snow is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Snow throws a combination that misses

and Garcia counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Garcia.
Snow is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Garcia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Snow looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Garcia won't allow Snow to get back to his feet.

Brett Snow has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Snow digs a good body shot into Garcia's ribs.
Snow lands a nice hook to Garcia's body. Garcia takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Snow looking to score a takedown here. Garcia is defending well but Snow drives through and ends up in Garcia's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Snow wants to stand but Garcia has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Snow is in close to Garcia's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Garcia is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Snow dives into side control.
Kendrick Garcia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Brett Snow is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Snow looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brett Snow showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Snow has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
