Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adam Duritz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Duritz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reggie Smalls!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duritz blocks a jab.
A low kick from Duritz is predictable there

and Smalls counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Duritz!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Duritz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Duritz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Smalls with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Duritz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Duritz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smalls is not content to let Duritz control the position.
Smalls is looking for a sweep. Duritz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Duritz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Smalls is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duritz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Duritz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Smalls defending well though.
Smalls has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Duritz is working away from the top position though.
Duritz is keen to just control but Smalls is a slippery customer.
Still in half guard, Duritz seems content to control.

Adam Duritz has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Smalls is trying to pull guard but Duritz turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Smalls tries to score a body lock takedown but Duritz shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The referee is keeping an eye on Duritz - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Duritz fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Duritz breaks the clinch.
Duritz takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Smalls lands with a good body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smalls circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smalls misses with a right hand
and Duritz counters with a thumping low kick.
Smalls misses with a left hand
and Duritz counters with an inside leg kick.
Smalls cracks Duritz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Duritz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smalls paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Duritz lands a really nice looking cross but Smalls seems unphased.


It looks like Reggie Smalls has been cut.

Duritz takes one on the button.
Duritz throws a head kick that misses.
Duritz fails in his attempt to clinch.

Duritz has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short right from Duritz.
Duritz lands a body shot.
Duritz scores with a shoulder strike.

Duritz manages to break the clinch.
Adam Duritz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duritz moves to clinch but Smalls breaks away

and Smalls counters with a single leg into guard. Duritz didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smalls stopping the sweep attempt from Duritz.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Smalls working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Smalls won't allow Duritz to sweep him here.
Smalls lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Smalls is looking to work some ground and pound but Duritz has wrist control.
Smalls is fighting to break Duritz's control of his arms but Duritz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Smalls stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duritz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smalls lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smalls stays in close to Duritz's body and controls the position.
Smalls throwing strikes from guard but Duritz blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Smalls counters with a nice double leg into side control. Duritz won't be happy with that.

Smalls is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Duritz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Smalls tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Smalls trying to control the action but Duritz is working from the bottom.

Smalls thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smalls throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Duritz works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Duritz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smalls's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smalls's back!

Smalls just trying to survive but Duritz is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Duritz trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Smalls tries to escape the position.
Smalls is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Duritz off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Duritz controlling the position well here. Smalls rolled but Duritz kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Smalls tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Duritz misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Duritz throws some wild stikes that Smalls manages to avoid easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Duritz is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Duritz wants to clinch

and Smalls counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Duritz!
Duritz is trying to control Smalls's posture but Smalls avoids it.

Smalls is trying to get an arm triangle but Duritz is defending well.
Duritz tries to improve position but can't.
Smalls wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duritz keeps working.
Duritz is letting Smalls control him for a moment.
Smalls wants to control but Duritz is keeping him busy.

Duritz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smalls wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Duritz manages to get back to half guard.
Smalls throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Duritz gets full guard.

Duritz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Smalls must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Smalls misses with a takedown
and Duritz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Duritz tries to clinch but Smalls moves out of range.
Duritz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smalls lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Smalls shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Smalls is stalling here. Duritz is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Smalls seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Duritz has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Smalls is looking for a sweep.
The referee asks Duritz politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Duritz prefers to stall for the moment though.

Duritz decides to stand back up.
Smalls avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Duritz tries to throw a body punch but Smalls avoids it by throwing Duritz back against the cage.
Smalls is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Duritz gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Duritz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Duritz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smalls misses with a body shot.
Duritz throws a leg kick but Smalls sees it coming and moves out of range.
Smalls is trying hard to land a takedown here. Duritz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Adam Duritz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Smalls.
Smalls swats away the attempt to clinch by Duritz.
Duritz connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smalls lands a nice hook to Duritz's body. Duritz takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duritz moves out of range of the body kick.
Smalls tests Duritz's chin there with a solid looking shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
Adam Duritz showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Duritz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
