Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Parfait Hilton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Te Huna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hilton's entrance music is The man in the moon is a newfie. A fine choice. Te Huna comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Chevelle-Jars kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Parfait Hilton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Te Huna!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hilton lands with a nice body punch.
Hilton tries a head kick but it misses.

and Te Huna decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hilton's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Te Huna wants to pass the guard but Hilton is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Te Huna is looking to pass into half guard but Hilton pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hilton is in guard.
Te Huna is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Te Huna bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hilton's guard.

Hilton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Te Huna postures up in Hilton's guard and throws a big left but Hilton blocks it.
Te Huna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hilton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Te Huna sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hilton's guard.
Hilton wants to improve his position but Te Huna is controlling well.

Hilton has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Te Huna lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hilton is trying to get back to half guard.

Te Huna is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hilton looks calm but he's in trouble here. Te Huna gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hilton is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Te Huna lets go of the hold and Hilton can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). James Te Huna!
A relieved looking James Te Huna thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
