Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Speakman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas MacArthur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speakman throws a left and a right that both miss
and MacArthur counters with a low kick, right behind Speakman 's knee.
The fighters circle momentarily. Speakman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Speakman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Speakman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and MacArthur counters with a three punch combo that has Speakman backing up. Speakman nods at MacArthur to acknowledge the strikes.
MacArthur has a takedown stuffed.
MacArthur cracks a nice hook into Speakman's ribs.
We've been hearing reports that Speakman has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Speakman lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Speakman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

MacArthur wants to get back to his feet but Speakman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
MacArthur is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

MacArthur drops Speakman with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Speakman! MacArthur dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
