The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips staying out of range there.
Jalo scores with a nice strike.
Phillips doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Phillips has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Jalo has closed the distance and engaged Phillips in a clinch.

Phillips tries to keep at a distance but Jalo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Phillips wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Jalo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Phillips blocks an uppercut.
Jalo swings wildly with an uppercut but Phillips uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jalo gets underhooks to prevent Phillips's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kent Phillips. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Phillips's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Phillips is rocked!
Jalo lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Phillips to his knees! Jalo keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
