PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ferdinand Carney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanibal Delcio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanibal Delcio is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ferdinand Carney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hanibal Delcio!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delcio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Delcio goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Delcio fails with the takedown
and Carney counters with a three punch combo that has Delcio backing up. Delcio nods at Carney to acknowledge the strikes.

Carney moves into the clinch.
Carney tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Delcio jumps guard but Carney stands there with Delcio around his waist. Delcio gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Carney ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Carney no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Delcio wants to control from the top but Carney keeps moving.
Delcio passes into half guard.

Delcio blocks the strikes from Carney.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carney has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Delcio regains guard immediately.
