Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Barney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barney misses with a few strikes there.
Jones throws a head kick but Barney moves out of range.

Barney gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Barney has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jones is pushing him up against the ropes, looking to control the position.
Barney lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Barney scores a nice knee to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Barney pulls guard successfully.
Barney manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Barney not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Barney stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Barney sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.
Barney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Barney slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Barney pulls his head out easily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Barney in particular looking to stall.
Jones tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Barney connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Barney looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Barney winds up and cracks Jones with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barney maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Jones could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Barney has cracked it and Jones is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Barney!
